Watchlist for Friday 11/27/2009

Posting my watchlist early.  Remember that Friday is a short trading day. Yesterday’s watchlist didn’t do much today.  I tried shorting BRYN at 74 cents but it was a fake breakdown and I covered at 81 cents for a loss.  I covered the rest of my SEED short at 10.65 for a profit.  I re-shorted a bit too aggressively later at 10.45 and got squeezed out at 10.75.  Overall a small loss on the day for me. Friday’s watchlist: SEED:  Only if it can fall below $10BRYN:  A known pump…it’s just a matter of when the dump will startTAMB:  Up ...Continue Reading...

Watchlist for Wednesday 11/25/2009

SEED BRYN I’m short overnight a half-position on SEED from 11.40.  I covered half at 10.62 and holding the rest. Other than NLST, yesterday’s watchlist turned out pretty good, although SEED and PCBC are the only two I played (and I broke even on PCBC as I had to cover early and it didn’t break down until the afternoon). ...Continue Reading...

Watchlist for Tuesday 11/24

Yesterday’s watchlist turned out pretty good.  I had successful shorts on both GGR and TTIL.  NLST would’ve been good too but I couldn’t find any borrows. Tomorrow’s list:  LEOM SEED ABIO PCBC CTHR NLST SEED and ABIO are probably the best on the list.  LEOM will be illiquid.  NLST is starting to get choppy and this maybe the last time it makes it on the list.  PCBC has had 4 straight up days in a horrible long-term chart and could be a decent short.  CTHR is looking over-extended but isn’t as liquid as the rest. ...Continue Reading...

Watchlist for Monday 11/23

Three good potential short setups for Monday….. GGR has nearly doubled in a few days, mainly pushed up by momo traders.  TTIL is also a near double in a few days.  Yeah, it might be an earnings move but I have no problem shorting earnings moves if they are looking over-extended.  NLST is pushing up again, nearly doubling from $4.  This was a great short a few days ago; I shorted at $5.18 and covered at $4.56 and $4.28.  Borrows have been tough to come by, though. ...Continue Reading...

Watchlist for 11/17

I shorted NLST today at 5.78 but held too long and ended up covering at 5.74 for a tiny profit….I was holding for the tank which didn’t happen today. CLRH finally tanked but unfortunately no shares anywhere to be found. NLST is the only thing on the watchlist for tomorrow (and probably on everyone else’s watchlist too). ...Continue Reading...

Watchlist for 11/16

NLST CLRH CNIC I was a bit too aggressive on a NLST short on Friday and got squeezed out.  We’ll see if Monday works out (hopefully Genesis will have borrows). ...Continue Reading...

Watchlist for Friday the 13th

Short:  CLRH GHLV (both manipulated stocks; good luck finding borrows for these two) NLST Long:  VRMLQ I recently got a job with an affiliate of a very large health insurance company, so I’m only able to trade now in the mornings before I go to work.  It’s frustrating to miss some of the good afternoon opportunities (like VRMLQ today)…I may have to give up my TIMAlerts subscription (as most of Tim’s trades occur in the afternoon), but we’ll see.  I’m at least able to grab shorting opportunities in the morning, as well as longing preleaders. ...Continue Reading...

Watchlist for 11/4/2009

Today I traded CXPO from yesterday’s watchlist.  I shorted a small position at 7.60 and 7.61 because it was so illiquid.  It traded sideways for a long time.  I broke my trading rules and I jumped out when I saw the ask hit 7.90 in the afternoon.  I got out at 7.65 for a tiny loss.  However, right after I got out, CXPO fell to 7.30 and closed at 7.25.  That’s what happens when you exit on emotion rather than waiting for an exit signal or for your stop to get hit. Not much on the watchlist for tomorrow….only REV.  ...Continue Reading...
